WhosePoo identifies animal droppings from a photo using on-device AI — no internet needed, no data uploaded. Point, shoot, discover.
Free to download · full sighting history unlockable with a one-time purchase
Built for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts, and curious kids. Works anywhere in the UK, with no signal required.
Point your camera at any dropping and get an instant ID. The model covers 15 common UK mammal species.
Uses your location to apply geographic priors — making identifications smarter based on what's likely in your area, and flagging when a result is uncommon nearby.
Every ID comes with context, not just a bare guess — like where a species is typically found, so you can sanity-check the result yourself.
Each result includes a wildlife fun fact and identification notes so you learn while you explore.
Build a personal map of every sighting. See where you've been and what's living nearby.
Export every sighting photo to your Photos library in one tap, so your finds live in your camera roll too.
All analysis runs on your device. Your photos are never uploaded anywhere. No account required.
Because every great wildlife app needs a fresh poo joke each day. 100 original jokes included.

WhosePoo processes data only to provide the identification and sighting log features. All data remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
WhosePoo requests access to your camera, photo library, and location. If you use the optional "Save to Photos" feature, the app also requests permission to add photos to your library — it only ever adds photos, never reads your existing library for this feature. These permissions are used solely for the identification and export features. You can revoke them at any time in your iPhone Settings. If location permission is denied, the app continues to work — sightings are simply saved without a location.
WhosePoo offers an optional one-time purchase to unlock full sighting history. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store any payment information.
WhosePoo does not knowingly collect any data from children or any other users. No personal data leaves your device.
Species geographic range data is derived from occurrence records provided by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) under a CC BY 4.0 licence.
If we make changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
